Congrats to Cameron Huzar who has won himself a GoPro through the ‘LocoSports x Camp Rubicon Video Competition’!! His Summer camp edit got the most number of votes on the Loco website – but all the other entries will receive a little something too. You can check it out above. Cam said “Here is a video I filmed whilst I was on Camp Rubicon. It was a great experience and I met lots of new people and some really sick riders. Riders include: Danny Roberts, Ryan Mcnamara, Lewis Crampton and many more!” #parksandpros #scootercamp #gopro #videocompetition #locosports #skateparktour
Want to win an awesome GoPro camera? Then be sure to upload any little video clips from camp this Summer to the Rubicon channel on Loco Sports TV. There’s loads of other prizes up for grabs too, so whether it’s a 20 second trick clip or a full blown edit from your week of camp – upload – share – and good luck!
Excited to announce the latest two additions to the staff crew, Zoe Edmunds and Adam Oliver. They’ll be joining us for 6 weeks of the Summer, helping out on all different camps. They’ve both got big love for snowboarding, travelling, skating, surfing, all the stuff that we’re passionate about too, so it’ll be awesome to spend the holidays touring tonnes of skateparks with them and loads of different pro riders and having lots of laughs with all the campers. Welcome aboard! #thesummerhaslanded #tourandexplore #believethehype [image][/image] [image][/image] [image][/image] [image][/image]
We’re very excited to announce that Camp Rubicon now has an official[image][/image] caterer! Head Chef Liam Flanagan and his Cater For Me team will now be preparing freshly made lunches and dinners every day. We explained how intense the camps are and he’s come up with a great selection of tasty homemade food (nothing processed) that is healthy and filling without being stodgy. You can see a menu example here and our mouths are already watering! (My personal favourites are the Southern Fried Chicken with Sautéed Potatoes and Coleslaw or the Roast Beef with Roasted New Potatoes, Vegetables and Gravy!!!) What’s also great is that their company is able to work to our crazy schedule – which means we can still spend all day and night at skateparks – and they’ll have the food hot and ready for when we get back! Awesome development and something that will definitely make all the children and parents (and staff) very happy! Super stoked about this partnership. Let us know your favourites from the menu in the comments.
What an amazing year 2013 was for Camp Rubicon! The 6 weeks of Summer alone saw 168 kids from 16 countries clocking up 146 skatepark visits with 22 pro riders! So much fun – so many new friends – and incredible stories! [image][/image]We’re always aiming to make the camps better than ever and so for 2014 there are lots of small and big changes in the works including… 2014 Dates. Click Here! Starting in February Half Term and running all the way through to October Half Term. More weeks including an earlier ‘Euro Week’ in the Summer for our international friends. Also ‘Back To Back’ weeks for those kids who want to come for multiple weeks. Please book early as each week has limited places. Fridays Extended. In the past, camp finished at 3pm on the last day but now we’ll keep going till later – giving us a fuller final day of riding – and also making it easier for parents to come and collect after work. Indoor Only Camps. We’re introducing ‘Indoor Only’ Camps where you’ll spend the week at 5 of the UK’s biggest and best indoor skateparks. (Don’t worry we’re still doing our normal camps too…
Something new and epic is preparing to unleash on 2014 campers – indoor only camps! A lot of you young rippers out there have said you would be happy to spend a weeks camp visiting only indoor skateparks, so we’ve listened – and we’re going to make it happen! [image][/image]The Plan? 5 days… 5 all day sessions at the 5 biggest and best indoor skateparks in the country… hopefully with a few awesome lockins thrown in too! But the question is… what should the 5 parks be? Adrenaline Alley? Rampworx? Terminal 1? The Worx? Beast Ramps? Asylum? Flo? Boardroom? Creation? Deeside? The House? Joyz of Grind? Rampcity? Boneyard? Pioneer? XC? Or any others… Let us know because we will soon be contacting your chosen 5 to make it all happen. #believethehype

Accommmodation is changing for 2013 and heading indoors. We’ve used a variety of accommodation over the years – and many of you will have stayed at Tent City for the Summer camps – and whilst this was pretty cool and worked well – for 2013 we have moved things indoors. [image][/image]The skateboard and scooter camps will stay at The Earlswood Lodge (not at the same time obviously) whilst the Inline and BMX camps will stay at The Bilberry Bunkhouse (again not at the same time). New for 2013 is that we have moved the accommodation to Earlswood Log Cabin. The Log Cabin accommodates up to 20 children and consists of five bedrooms, each with 2 bunkbeds in. They have central heating as well as mattresses and pillows, but you will need to bring a duvet or sleeping bag. [image][/image](See What To Bring on the Parents page) There are also male and female showers and toilets, a fully fitted kitchen complete with microwave, fridge freezer, cooker, kettle etc, as well as a chill out area with sofas, XBox or Wii, pool table, air hockey and table soccer. There is a seperate dining area with a Tech Deck play area – and…
