Rubicon Girls Week
The Rubicon Girl Camps are Europe’s biggest and longest running series of week long residential skate and scooter camps – just for girls – and a chance for riders of all different ages and abilities to visit a whole bunch of amazing skateparks, learn new skills and tricks, make new friends and basically have a super fun week of riding and laughs.
Now in our 5th year, the camps are based near Birmingham – giving us easy access to loads of the best indoor and outdoor parks in the country - and of course we'll have some super cool sponsored female riders on hand all week, to ride with and learn from.
The camps really are open to girls of all ages (for example in 2014, we had ‘girls’ from 14 to 41), and with girls coming from all over the UK and Europe, the camps are always a lot of fun and an unforgettable week!
August 7th to August 11th (Girls Week)
Our camps are based near Birmingham - with girls coming from all over the UK (and lots of other countries too) to take part. Parents simply drop the children off on the Monday morning and pick them up on the Friday evening and we take care of the rest.
Birmingham is ideally positioned in the heart of the country to give us easy access to hundreds of skateparks. It also has a major airport (to help girls come from abroad) and a major train station (to help those girls travelling by themselves).
Accommodation and Food
Skateboarding all day is hard work. Skateboarding all day, every day for an entire week is seriously intensive – so we make sure that everyone’s properly fuelled up and gets a bit of sleep!
We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner each day – as well as some extra drinks whilst we’re at the parks to keep everyone hydrated and ripping it up! (and remember this is all included in the price)
A hot shower and a good nights sleep also helps rest those muscles ready for the next day of riding and our accommodation comes with warm comfy beds and is a fun place to chill out with a movie or XBox game at night.
We have two different accommocation centres near Birmingham - depending on which camp you are on - but both have fun dormitories with bunkbeds, central heating, male and female showers and toilets, fully fitted kitchens, chill out rooms with tv and xbox.
The staff and pro riders live there aswell – in their own rooms – so the group are always supervised – and there are always adults around to deal with any questions or problems.

During the week we visit some of the UK’s very best indoor and outdoor skateparks. We also like to visit new parks that have recently opened – as well as some local parks that have interesting features or layout. If the weather is nice, we try and stay outdoors – afterall, this is the UK and we get a lot of rain for 8 months of the year forcing us indoors so its nice to make the most of the sunny time!
There’s no set plan each week as to what parks we will visit – and the staff and drivers will usually decide in the morning over breakfast – but we’ve never gone to less than 10 parks in a week – and our record is 20!!
Some of our favourite parks from last year were Radlands Plaza, Faringdon, Stoke-on-Trent Plaza, Bollywood, Adrenaline Alley, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Bromsgrove, Mansfield, Burton, Corby and Bearwood. There are so many others to choose from – and we love going to new places too – so if you think you know one worth visiting that we havent been to, just let us know. Road trip!!
Pro's and Staff
With 7 years experience in providing camps and running an action sports school, you can be confident that you are in the best possible hands. At the end of the day we just want everyone to have the week of their lives – by riding loads and enjoying themselves to the absolute max – in a safe environment.
Each week you will also be riding, learning and hanging out with prosponsored female riders. On camp before we’ve had skaters likes Dora Horvath (Rogue, Roam and Seek), Camilla Mullins (Rokeo), Julia Wilshusen (Etnies), Andrea Wilshusen (Etnies), Emma Richardson (Spread Eagle), Kristina Westad (Bellows), we’ve had inliners like Rosie O’Donoghue (Conference) and Jenna Downing (Razors) and scooters like Maddie Swain (Grit), Giz Radford (MGP), Cloe Coldicott (Skate Hut). The names for this year can be found on the blog or follow us on facebook. We also have photographers and filmers on hand to capture all the action in full HD glory.
