After 20 years of talk…

… we finally went and skated over the river at Winchester skatepark.

Growing up skating in Winch, the river was just a river and always there. From the angle you saw it from the skatepark, we’d make throw away comments that someone should jump over it as it didn’t look that big.

20 years on, a little wiser, and little more able and with resource, we measured it… exactly 10 metres across. We made the rail, called some friends, and things escalated pretty quickly.

A handful of guests made it over, as did a handful of kids!!!

Cam who runs Butters Skate Shop, and has been a rad friend of ours for all eternity, also the only person to make it over with a board slide, (everyone else opted for the 50-50.)

Day went super good, loads of local normals just stopping by to watch. Good vibes and a massive tick off the bucket list. With the popularity of the jam, keep any eye out for a similar event each year. A skate jam with a twist or special feature. WATCH THIS SPACE!
